Always looking to improve our excellent studio facilities, the flagship Studio A has recently seen the most significant upgrade to date.
Now fully equipped with a brand new SSL 6032G+ console, Resident has joined a small band of elite studios to boast such an impressive piece of kit. We could have settled for one of SSL’s newer digital or hybrid crossover editions, but compromising for second best isn’t the Resident way. Instead we opted for a fully refurbished console from their vintage 4000/6000 series, world renowned and known to have been used on more platinum records that all its all its competitors combined. You know you have something special when Universal Audio model a plugin on a solitary channel from the 4000 edition.
With a keen eye you may have noticed that we’ve also paired the SSL desk with a Lexicon 224XL reverb from the ubiquitous white LARC remote. Originally developed back in 1978, this seminal piece of music technology is still regarded one of the best reverb units money can buy. Known for producing engrossing, extended delays, the 224XL was famously put it to great use in the Blade Runner soundtrack and remains an essential addition to any good analogue console to this day.
