Now here at Resident Studios, as I’m sure you know, we offer facilities for music production and rehearsal space. But unbeknownst to some, as many don’t realise, is that we also cater for film, TV and sound design. Scruffbag Productions recently teamed up with our engineer John Martin to work on sound design for their short film ‘The Boxer’. Our state-of-the-art Studio A is equipped with a full Pro Tools HD rig with a rather fetching 24 channel Pro Control with flying faders, which is perfect for audio visual mixing.
Scruffbag Productions launched a scriptwriting competition ‘Project 7’ in 2011 which was won by Daniel Bailey, a 22 year old Architecture student from Brent. The competition was open to young people aged 14-25 local to the Borough of Brent, the film was to last 7 minutes and the scripts were to be based on one of the 7 Olympic and Paralympic values – respect, excellence, friendship, courage, determination, inspiration and equality.
‘The Boxer’ is exceptionally made, bringing in London’s most talented film makers and actors to create an emotional and powerful film that all generations can relate to. It was funded by West London Partnerships of London 2012 and Brent Council. The film will be screened at a host of events during the run up to the Olympics and is set to make waves at numerous film festivals. This master flick will eventually be posted on youtube, so make sure you check our blog for updates!
