Aztec Records‘ artists have been rehearsing here at Resident Studios for some time now so when we heard about their artist Nina‘s live video getting online we thought it an appropriate point to introduce you all to both Nina and the label. Aztec is an independent label with a small but perfectly formed rosta of cool-electro-art-pop artists and run by session drummer extraordinaire Laura Fares.
Nina is leading a swathe of activity for the label at the moment, with a new EP out which gained approval from Pitchfork no less and a UK tour starting in under a weeks time there’s plenty to talk about. We however will remain focused on the wonderful live video the Berlin born singer filmed in our flagship Studio 1 earlier this year. The video is paired back somewhat from her electronic synth driven EP, but it’s no less exciting to hear. As well as her UK dates (below), Nina is scheduled to head out to the US to support someone we’ve all heard of, but we can’t be the first to tell you who that is, Nina hasn’t even announced it yet so you’ll just have to follow her online to find out more.
