Before being picked up by French imprint Kitsuné, Nimmo & The Gauntletts would frequent our studios to take advantage of the comfortable rehearsal spaces. A year on since their self-released debut and the London-based quintet are going strong. Coming off the back of a daytime Field Day slot, soon the band will take their inimitable brand of melancholic, electronic pop to the south of France for Les Déferlantes.
Their first outing for Kitsuné saw Wild Beasts and Joe Goddard of Hot Chip fame jump on the remix duties alongside label stalwarts Reset Safari and Logo, but our personal favourite is the title track. Laying down catchy lyrics and engrossing harmonies over an impeccably arranged composition of bubbling, oscillating bass, sparse chords and crisp percussion, ‘Others’ is not to be overlooked. We can’t wait to see what they do next!
