The last few months have been absolutely brilliant at Resident Studios with recording sessions and rehearsals spanning almost every single genre you could think of; from electro-pop, rap, folky blues, rock, punk & metal; to classical piano, string quartets & opera vocals.
Along side this Resident has also been involved in numerous music video and live video shoots for various artists and projects
It’s safe to say that we have our fingers in many different pies, and so we thought it would be a great idea to have a look back on much of the recent work we have done, admittedly mainly for our own enjoyment, but also to be able to showcase the talent that comes to our studio and also everything we love about our facility and atmosphere.

First we’ll start with Alexander Bermange who took on the task of recording his comedy musical album with us consisting of performances from of West End stars Miriam Margolyes, David Bedella, Mike Dixon, Amy Lennox and more. (Sept. 2016)

This is a shot of Rick Leon James working on a new track written by Elisha Blue with producer Caradog Jones. (Sept. 2016)

Elisha Blue Laying down a fresh guitar part on one of his gospel/blues tracks. (Feb. 2017)

Some Mandarin language classical vocal recordings with engineer Andy Rugg. (Sept. 2016)

A great gospel session with Femi Osinaike and his band with engineer Andy Rugg (Oct. 2016)

Tim Penn mixing his newest blues album with mixing engineer Caradog Jones (Oct. 2016)

We get a lot of bands coming in and out of our doors for rehearsals. A particular one came to mind in the form of Goodbye Brighton who had a great folky rock sound to them. (Oct. 2016)

Occasionally we do some great sounding drum recordings in our smaller Studio 2. Here are Pocket Satellites laying down some drum tracks with Engineer Ian Hansen. (Oct. 2016)

Singer-Songwriter Barry Locke working towards the release of new material with producer/engineer Caradog Jones. (Nov. 2016)

Another great gospel session with Sodi Cookey and his band with some evidently very dirty bass lines with engineer Joe Watson. (Nov. 2016)

We occasionally do music video shoots with our designated professional video team. This was Jeremy Swift (Downton Abbey, Roman Polanski’s Oliver Twist) shooting a video for a brand new song he wrote. (Nov. 2016)

Another memorable session was with The Honey Ants engineered by Thomas Hill, who are a 2-piece Nashville blues band. You can check out our full interview with them in one of our previous blogs. (Nov. 2016)

Sometimes a thumbs up tells the whole story. This was a great pop session with Julian Sollai engineered by Andy Rugg (Nov. 2016)

At Resident we LOVE strings. This was a string quartet session engineered by Ian Hansen for a Christmas Single release by Noam Galperin. (Dec. 2016)

We love any opportunity to record the sound of our lush Yamaha grand piano. This is Sam Watts recording alongside Saxophonist Tom Neale for a upcoming album. (Jan. 2017)

Another great rehearsal session that came tot mind was with a great new electro-pop band ‘Rumours’ whom we previously wrote a blog about so go check that out at some point! (Jan. 2017)

Finally we wanted to highlight a great session we had with Beth Sbresni which included a string quartet, piano, accordion and vocals. Thomas Hill took helm of the SSL to engineer this project. (Feb. 2017)
This has been just a fraction of all the great work that has been happening at Resident Studios over the last few months and we look forward to what comes through our doors in the near future!
