Following some rehearsal time with us last year, London grime star Ghetts returned to Resident Studios earlier this year to do some live recording and filming.
Never one to take the obvious well trodden path, Ghetts was here to show that he’s an extremely versatile artist that can stand apart from an increasingly crowded grime music scene. With engineer Caradog Jones behind the mixing desk, this session was all about getting a live, full band recording down and on film for the lead track of the forthcoming (and now released) album “Rebel With A Cause”.
As if setting up and recording a full band (drums, guitar, bass, keys, samples, vocals and piano), lighting and camera crew in 6 hours wasn’t enough, Ghetts had to schedule in a BBC Radio 1 interview into the middle of the session. A hectic schedule indeed but if you’re a pro, this doesn’t phase you and the results are outstanding! As well as the full band recording for Rebel With A Cause, the guys even managed to change set up and get an acoustic Drake cover done as well!
No mean feat!
