Lead guitarist of the indie rock band Fun, Jack Antonoff, announced his new project earlier this year called Bleachers. Described by Time as ‘more fun than fun.’, we at Resident Studios had the privilege of recording a live performance by Bleachers and we couldn’t agree more! The band had just performed at Glastonbury the day before, but that didn’t effect their form as they played a captivating set including their breakout single ‘I Wanna Get Better’, consisting of a mixed acoustic and electric set up made up of an acoustic guitar, a Roland synth and drum machine!
The American musician Jack Antonoff, has formerly pursued his own projects way back in 2002 when he was lead singer for his band Steel Train, before going on to join Fun in 2008 at the request of frontman Nate Ruess. Their second album Some Nights saw them conquer the charts featuring the hugely successful #1 single, We Are Young, which was co-written by Antonoff along with band members Nate Ruess and Andrew Dost, and producer Jeff Bhasker. Lead singer Antonoff spent the past year working on the project in secret, before releasing the single ‘I Wanna Get Better’ back in February. Their debut album Strange Desire is set to release on July 15th, and given what we’ve heard today we can’t wait to hear it!
