Resident Studios are thrilled to be hosting rock’n’roll and country music legends, in the shape of Albert Lee & Hogan’s Heroes. In the middle of a busy touring schedule, they are using a few days off the road to record new material for their forthcoming album. Considered by many as one of the world’s finest guitar players, Albert Lee is also quite handy on the piano, as well as a damn good singer. His band Hogan’s Heroes were founded by Gerry Hogan, master of the pedal steel. For those of you that are not familiar with a pedal steel, think of two guitar necks laying flat on a table, with pedals underneath that control the pitch.
Also in the band are Peter Baron on drums and vocals, Brian Hodgson on bass and vocals and Gavin Povey on piano and vocals. Watching this incredible group of musicians has been an honour for us here at Resident Studios. Their professionalism, musicianship and experience in the industry has been oozing down the studio walls. Albert Lee ripping blues-fuelled solos effortlessly, take after take, has been a particular highlight.
